June 2012 – JJB Sports Shoot – Kids, Womenswear & Menswear. London & East Sussex
The typical British Summertime weather played havoc with our JJB Sports shoot last week, but the troopers that we are at Zara Grey HQ showed that it takes more than a June Monsoon to defeat us! The shoot started off bright and early at the fabulous Pineapple Dance Studios, followed by running tracks and football pitches with kids galore! We had full on dancing, running and playing up to the camera, and that was just Sarah the production manager.
Sunday morning was a very early kick off at the Southbank, where our gorgeous models Ben & Brooke put us all to shame with their sporting prowess in the miserable London rain. Little did we know at this point that the weather was going to try its very hardest to play a starring role in our shoot for the next few days!
With emergency wellies purchased and a last minute scramble for anything waterproof , Monday saw the crew travel down to East Sussex where we based ourselves at the amazing Mermaid Inn, Rye. Horrendous rain lead to hours and hours on the location bus waiting for smallest ray of light that would allow the shoot to continue. After dangerous levels of coffee and mini doughnut comfort eating, the weather finally decided it was bored of torturing us for no valid reason and went to find entertainment elsewhere, leaving our lovely crew with some much deserved shoot-friendly sunshine.
From 6am (!!) to 8.30pm, we left no location unturned, from beaches to Beachy head, to wind turbines and woods, the shots by our boy Klas Strom speak for themselves….
In the face of a very tough shoot, the crews upbeat mood, humour and hard work ethic made it a very funny and memorable shoot I will certainly not forget. One more for the Louise Collis diaries of production….
